Check your CV

Your CV is read once to make the report and is not stored. Only the results are kept, for 30 days, so they are waiting if you create an account.

What the checker looks at

Applicant tracking systems read your CV as plain text before anyone sees it. These are the things that most often go wrong.

Can an ATS read it?

Scanned pages, images and odd fonts leave applicant tracking systems with an empty CV.

Contact details

Email, phone with country code and LinkedIn, as plain text where software finds them.

Standard sections

Experience, education, skills and a summary under headings an ATS recognises.

Results with numbers

Achievements with percentages, money or team size, not just a list of duties.

Dates and history

A start and end date for each job, in a format software can work out.

Length and style

One or two pages, action verbs, no buzzwords, no unnecessary personal details.

Questions

Is the CV checker really free?

Yes. You see your score and the top fixes without an account. A free account opens the full report with every check.

Is my CV stored?

No. The file is read once to make the report and then discarded. Only the results (the score and which checks passed) are kept for 30 days, so they are waiting if you sign up.

Is this an official ATS score?

No. Every employer's applicant tracking system is different, and none publishes its scoring. Our checks follow what these systems have in common and what recruiters look for, so a high score means your CV is easy for software and people to read.

Why does my CV score low when it looks good?

Designed templates often use text boxes, columns, icons and images. They look good to people but come through to software as jumbled or missing text. A simple layout usually scores much higher.

How do I get a higher score for a specific job?

Tailor the CV to the job. With a free account, upload your CV once and paste any job: we match it requirement by requirement and write a tailored, ATS-friendly CV from your real experience.
